Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy is a week-long summer school in traditional music and set dance held annually at Miltown Malbay, Co. Clare. The summer school, now in its 50th year, commemorates local uilleann piper, Willie Clancy. Activities which take place as part of the summer school include classes, talks, recitals, céilí, album and publication launches and sessions.
Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy 2022 will take place from Saturday 2nd July to Sunday 10th July 2022. Uilleann pipes and Reedmaking classes will run from Monday 4th to Saturday 9th July inclusive, from 10am until 1pm each day.
To register for classes, please fill in the following online form, available here. Payment can be made through the shop item here. We ask that all students ensure their pipes and regulators (where applicable) are in working condition in advance of the classes.
All students must meet on the Monday morning at 9am at the West Clare Resource Centre, Ballard Road, Miltown Malbay in order to sign-in and be assigned to classes. Registration for classes will close on Thursday 30th June at 5pm.
All students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at registration on the Monday morning. For students under 18, a Parental/Guardian Consent Form must be completed upon registration. This must be done in advance returned to info@pipers.ie. The form can be found here.
Please note that if you require Pipes on Loan as a beginner student, you must contact us in advance as instrument availability is limited.
Please note that class fees for the week are €140 plus a service charge of €10.32 consistent with all other instrument classes.
