JUST ANNOUNCED: Annual #ReelsonWheels Sponsored Cycle – Friday 30th June 2023

We are delighted to announce that we will be back on our bikes this summer with our sponsored cycle from Dublin to Miltown Malbay! At the moment, we are looking for participants who are interested in taking part in this annual fundraising event. It’s great fun and raises much needed funds for Na Píobairí Uilleann’s activities.

Try the Pipes South Donegal – Ballyshannon & Dunkineely

Na Píobairí Uilleann will be holding two ‘Try the Pipes’ events in South Donegal on Saturday 22nd April. The first will take place in McIntyre’s Mall Pub, Ballyshannon at 10am followed by a second event in the Dunkineely Community Centre at 2pm.

This event gives an opportunity for those interested or curious about the uilleann pipes to come along and try them out for free with an experienced teacher and uilleann piper. This is a free event and all ages are welcome. Tuition will be provided on the day by Caoimhín Mac Aoidh, JIm McGuire and Muireann Ní Shé.

There will also be a Piper’s Chair at the end of each session where local pipers and musicians will be encouraged to share a tune or two.

Try the Pipes – Lá Mór na Gaeilge: Bunús ar na Píb Uilleann

Bígí linn i gcomhair ceardlann iontach ar bhunús ar na píb uileann l mar chuid de Lá Mór na Gaeilge, comhordaithe ag Conradh na Gailege. Beidh sé ar súil ag a 12 a chlog, sa Georgian Room i gClub na Múinteoirí. Beidh léiriú deas ar an stair a bhaineann leis na píb agus freisin, beidh deis ag gach éinne triail a bhaint as iad a sheinnt le cúnamh as píobairí cleachtaithe, Éamonn Ó Meachair agus Pádraig Óg Mac Aodhagáin.

Tá an ceardlann seo oiriúnach do pháistí thar 9 bliain d’aois chomh maith le daoine fásta. Má bhfuil páiste faoi 16 ag freastal ar an imeacht seo, tá ar duine fásta a bheith leo. Beidh an imeacht seo dátheangach – Gaeilge agus Béarla.

Be with us for “Try the Pipes” in collaboration with Conradh na Gaeilge as part of Lá Mór na Gaeilge. 12 o’clock, in the Georgian Room in the Teachers Club, 36 Parnell Square West, Dublin 1. There will be an explanation of the pipes and their history and then everyone will get a chance to play the uileann pipes with the help experienced pipers, Éamonn Ó Meachair and Pádraig Óg Mac Aodhagáin.

This workshop is suitable for children from 9 years old and up as well as parents / adults. If a child under 16 is attending, an adult must attend with them. This event will be bilingual – Irish and English.

Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy 2023 will take place from Saturday 1st July to Sunday 9th July 2023. Uilleann pipes and Reedmaking classes will run from Monday 3rd to Saturday 8th July inclusive, from 10am until 1pm each day. Pre-registration is essential. Na Píobairí Uilleann in collaboration with Ballydehob Trad Festival and Cork Piper’s Club will be holding a ‘Try the Pipes’ event on Saturday 1st April in the Bank House, Ballydehob from 10am-12pm.

This is a free event and all ages are welcome. Tuition will be provided on the day by Cork uilleann pipers Eoin Ó Riabhaigh and Muireann Ní Shé.
