Notes & Narratives – Danny Meehan in conversation with Caoimhín Mac Aoidh
, , ,

Danny Meehan and the music of the Mountcharles area

Fiddle player Danny Meehan talks to Caoimhín Mac Aoidh about extraordinary players from Donegal who were overlooked by most modern collectors of Irish traditional music. Danny will talk about their influences on him and illustrate his own virtuosity through the tunes passed on to him during his youth in the townland of Drumalost, Mountcharles.

The talk will take place in 15 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1 and will start at 8:30pm on Thursday 9th December 2021. Admission is €10 (concession rate €5). Tickets are available through Eventbrite or contact the office at or by phone +353 01 87 30093. For those unable to attend in person, it will also be live streamed through our channel NPU-TV.

*In line with Government restrictions, this event will be limited capacity and all attendees will be required to provide a Covid 19 Cert (being fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 within the previous 6 months) and a valid photo ID.

Na Píobairí Uilleann presents Notes & Narratives – a series of monthly performance-based lectures on traditional music, song and dance by some of Ireland’s finest traditional artists.
