Budget 2026

In yesterday’s Budget 2026 announcement, the Irish Government confirmed that the income tax disregard for profit on the manufacture, maintenance and repair of uilleann pipes (up to €20,000) would be extended to the end of 2028.
    The extension of this measure, which was originally introduced in 2023, provides practical support for the development of pipemaking and recognises the importance of uilleann pipemaking to Irish society. NPU welcomes this announcement and the continuing support that it provides to Republic of Ireland-based pipemakers. This support from the Irish Government is aligned with Na Píobairí Uilleann’s ongoing aims to promote the teaching, making, playing and cultural heritage of the uilleann pipes.
