International Uilleann Piping Day (IUPD) 2024

November 2 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

International Uilleann Piping Day, a global celebration of the unique Irish pipes or ‘uilleann pipes’, will take place around the world on Saturday 2nd November 2024.

This co-ordinated day of piping activity organised by Na Píobairí Uilleann, is aimed at raising awareness of this iconic Irish instrument. Events will be held online or in person.

As in previous years, piping recitals, exhibitions, on-line broadcasts and discussions explaining the instrument and how it is made will take place across different time zones and those interested in learning more about the uilleann pipes can attend an activity in your locality or tune into online activities through the Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/uilleannpipingday set up specifically for this event. Anyone interested in getting involved or hosting an event should email info@pipers.ie.

A full list of events taking place around the world is available here on our website.

Here at Na Píobairí Uilleann, we are delighted to host a recital followed by a session in our HQ on 15 Henrietta Street, Dublin 1 at 7pm. We will be joined on the night by Dublin piper Peter Browne, Ciaran Browne and  New Zealand piper Wynton Moore as well as our Tuesday night piping students. All are welcome to attend and the event it free for all. Come join us on this celebratory night (and don’t forget to bring your pipes!).
