9 3 7 20130712 7 IMCO S CORCH, the free web browser plug-in that allows users to play the Sibelius scores on our IMCO web page, has been updated for compatibility with Google’s Chrome browser on Windows. The Scorch download page con- tains the latest installer. However, in order to download the correct installer, you will actu- ally have to use Chrome to access the page, otherwise, you won’t get the correct installer. If you have problems installing this update, first uninstall any previous version of Scorch you have and then you should be able to run the new installer. For further information, visit the Sibelius web- site http://www.sibeliusblog.com and enter the search term ‘Chrome’ REGULAR EVENTS WITH NA PÍOBAIRÍ UILLEANN WEEKLY NPU PIPING & REED-MAKING CLASSES: Held weekly during the months Sep- tember to May on Tuesday nights. Classes start each hour from 5pm to 8pm. NPU RECITALS: Held in The Cobblestone on the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30pm August 6th – Pat Mitchell (pipes), Bobby Gardiner (accordion) and Donal McCague (fiddle) September 3rd – Mark Redmond (pipes), Paul O’Shaughnessy (fiddle), Pearl O’Shaughnessy (fiddle) & Daoirí Farrell (songs) NOTES & NARRATIVES: Held in Henrietta Street on the third Friday of each month at 8:30pm. July 19th – Jim Carroll & Pat Mackenzie : Putting The Blas On It - Thirty years recording tradition bearers in Ireland and England; the songs and their importance to the singers August 16th – Sean Corcoran : The cross-over from Irish language song to Hiberno- English song and the Singing Weaver of Drogheda, John Sheil. September 13th – Orfhlaith Ní Bhriain : Songs and steps Of the soda cakes – From the heart of the city of the broken treaty. ’Tis of Limerick we sing. LEO ROWSOME COMMEMORATIVE EVENT: Held annually on the last Saturday in Febru- ary. The 2014 event will take place on the 22nd of February. NPU TIONÓL: Held annually on the weekend before the last Monday of May, in 2014 the weekend of May 23rd to 25th, in Listowel, co. Kerry. ADVANCED REED-MAKING CLASSES: Classes are held each summer. In 2013 each class will consist of three full days, starting on 17th June, 15th July and 19th August. SCOIL SAMHRAIDH WILLIE CLANCY: Held annually on the first full calendar week in July. It always starts on the first Saturday of July, the 5th of July in 2014. ACE & DEUCE OF PIPING CONCERT: Held annually on the first weekend in October, the 2013 concert will take place on Saturday October 5th. INTERNATIONAL UILLEANN PIPING DAY: Now an annual event, this year’s global day of uilleann piping will take place on Saturday 19th of October. BREANDÁN BREATHNACH COMMEMORATION: Held annually on the first Saturday of De- cember. The 2013 event will take place on Saturday, December 7th.
