The work covers the various types of material collected and preserved by the Commission, and also the personalities involved in the work. At least three of these had a close relationship with Na Píobairí Uilleann – Séamus Ennis, Breandán Breathnach and Tom Munnelly – and their work is covered in the book. NPU supported the production of this volume through a pre-publica- tion subscription. B reandán Breathnach’s record label SPÓL released one music recording in 1963, a vinyl EP containing six tracks from Peadar Ó Lochlainn and Aggie Whyte. Long a rare col- lector’s item, this has now been re-released on NPU’s label, with the proceeds donated by Peadar to support the PIPECRAFT pipemaking programme.
