Píobaire, An 7 2 14 20110510 14 Daniel the piper’ in the 18th century to the fa- mous names of our time, including Ennis, Row- some, Keenan, Reck and Furey, among others. In tandem with the exhibition, during the first week of its run, the PIPERLINK presentation was staged at the same venue. This is the show that has successfully toured the USA over the past few years and was customised on this occasion to focus on the piping tradition of Dublin. The presentation consists of a spoken account of piping tradition, delivered by historian Seán Donnelly, interspersed with appropriate songs and piping performances. Several songs were performed by Muireann Nic Amhlaoibh with very effective accompaniment on the pipes, and, to give a flavour of the event, one of these – “The Emigrant’s Farewell” – is printed below. The regulator accompaniment was devised and played by Tommy Keane, who kindly agreed to provide the arrangement for
