PIPECRAFT: Flat Pitch Chanter Making Course with Bill Haneman

Five-day, flat chanter making course with pipemaker Bill Haneman

Participants will get the opportunity to make a C or C# chanter based on an Egan design.  (Students with previous pipe making experience may consider other Egan pitches with prior instructor approval.)

Participants will complete a finished chanter body, and gain an understanding of the technical aspects in the design and construction of the chanter.

This course is not suitable for beginners, and a good level experience in machining and lathe use are essential. All tools and materials will be provided. Participants must be 16 and over.

The course does not include the reeding or voicing/tuning of the chanter.  This course is ideally suited to accompany follow-up two day courses in reeding, voicing, and tuning with an emphasis on this chanter design.  It is strongly encouraged those who attend this chanter making course sign up for the follow up courses which will be held in NPU on the weekends of 8^th & 9^th November for the reed making, and 15^th & 16^th November for the voicing and tuning.

Places are limited, and preference will be given to those wishing to complete these 2 follow on courses.
