Breandán Breathnach Commemorative Event 2024

Saturday 7th December 2024

The Breandán Breathnach Commemorative Event takes place annually in Henrietta Street in the first Saturday in December. The events of the day celebrate all aspects of Breandán’s legacy and include piping tuition, reedmaking tuition, a lecture and piping performance, followed by a social gathering with informal music.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday 7th December in NPU’s HQ, 15 Henrietta St. Dublin 1. All members are welcome to attend. Full details of this year’s programme of events are listed below:

Programme of Events

10am – 3:30pm: Piping & Spruce Reedmaking Workshops

• Tutors: Louise Mulcahy, Ciarán Brown & Martin Crossin

8pm: “Pat McCormack (1877-1941) Ardee Piper”

• Speaker: David Tuohy

9pm: Piping Recital

• Performers: Conal Duffy, Aoife Fadian, Alphie Mulligan & Tadhg Mulligan
