Agood selection of food was served and thenwe headed off into the bar. Individual pipersgot up and played a few tunes or joinedtogether and just had a bit of fun. Then it wastime for Emmett to play his recital. He playedhis Koehler and Quinn C set. He playedeffortlessly and melodically and even thoughhe played at breakneck speed at times themelody was never lost. His regulator accom-paniment was just sublime. He really made itlook easy and everyone was left thankful atwhat they had just heard and seen. Then it was time to refill the glasses and getready for the famous or infamous raffle.Unfortunately the details of the raffle mustremain secret, if you want know you have tobe in it to win it !!The session then began in earnest with themajority of pipers joining for at least a songon any instrument that they could get theirhands on. A great night was had by pipers andnon-pipers alike well into the wee hours.Sunday began at a quiter pace with some les-sons which just consolidated what had beentaught before and Alan Burton doing somefinal adjustments on the table. A lovelySunday lunch ensued and then Edwin Springclosed the tionól by thanking Emmett for hishard work, the hotel staff for all their effortsin looking after us and the pipers themselvesfor turning up.Personally I would like to thank Mick Megeeand Edwin Spring for all their hard work inorganising the tionól and to Emmett for hispatience and hard work. Roll on 2009!!Meirion Williams
