_______ MUSIC ________The highlight of the 1970 1jan61 in Ballymahon was, for me, Sanus Enniss playing of the The & Deuce ofPiping. I learned it shortly afterwards from the recording Tom Munneily had made at the time. BreandnBreathnach heard me playing it and knew irrmediately from whose playing I had learned it. He co,m,entedthat SSms had made the piece irregular in his playing, and that it should not be so. He undertook towrite out for me what he considered to be the Ennis version without irregularities. This he did, and Ipronptly mislaid it. It has recently reemerged from hiding, and we print it in this issue of MnPiobaire. It is not suggested that this version should now be adopted in preference o the one usuallyplayed by Ennis. It is printed only because it is considered to be of interest to pipers. In futureissues of An Plobaire we will print transcriptions of Enniss playing of the tune.(Note: rhe second treble clef marks the beginning of the second page of Breandns manuscript).oy onThe Ace & Deuce of Pipering (Revised: Seamus Enuis)ff j __ ___trf . 1 11f TS]rflC r_____ __ __ __ J QI
