21208. ThE THREE LITTLE DRUMMERS. Played by Henry Jhckson Jacksonis an old country fiddler; was bred and born on CoL Villiers Stuarts estate, his fatherbeing gardener to the family of Stuart. Jackson learnt all he knew from an old manfrom Cashel, named Hennesey. That was sixty years ago, maam, and I rememberevery tune he taught me. Here is a list of the tunes he played, some of which Ihave kept over for our next Journal : Green Fields of America, ConnaughtMans Rambles, The Bellows is burnt old, Brown Pulleys Reel, The ScotchGlass of Beer, Napoleons Retreat from Moscow, Mureen the Play Boy, TheThree Little Drummers, The Devils Dream.A friend took a snapshot of him surrounded by an admiring collection of twodonkeys, poultry, several pigs, and the kindly farmers family, with whom old Jacksonlives. Shure! he has two years to wait for his old age pension, and hes lived withus a couple of years; but we dont grudge him his bite and sup; so said the farmer,adding to his friends and neighbours, Come in, and hear the tunes on the machine.Man alive, its tre-mendous.rrr: 1 : rtrjr.rii rir ri.J: J : r fl i LLrrI!iifrb.
