Notes & Narratives – Tara Connaghan

Na Píobairí Uilleann presents Notes & Narratives, a monthly series that brings traditional music, song and dance to life through performance, storytelling and conversation with leading traditional Irish musicians artists.

Join us on Thursday 19th February for February’s Notes & Narratives with acclaimed fiddle player, podcaster, tour guide and arts manager Tara Connaghan from Glenties, Co. Donegal. With over 35 years immersed in the Irish traditional music scene, Tara presents ‘In Tune with Tradition – Perspectives on Session Etiquette in Irish Traditional Music’, drawing on real experiences from sessions across Ireland and beyond. Through music and personal insight, she explores the unwritten rules, shared understanding and subtle social cues that shape session culture, as well as the success of her podcast since its launch in July 2025.

Whether you are a musician, a session regular, or simply curious about the culture behind the music, this promises to be an engaging and accessible evening.
