There will be a pipemaking workshop at the PIPECRAFT centre in Clonshaugh, and a pipemakers show- case, a lecture and a recital will take place in Hen- rietta Street. Please keep this date free to help make this a suc- cessful occasion. BREANDÁN BREATHNACH COMMEMORATION T he 2012 Breandán Breathnach com- memoration will take place in Henrietta Street on Saturday 1st December. 10:00am to 3:30pm PIPING CLASSES Síle Friel, Mickey Dunne and John O’Brien REEDMAKING CLASS Mick O’Brien (at PipeCraft, Clonshaugh) 7:00pm RECEPTION 8:30pm ILLUSTRATED LECTURE Terry Moylan: CEOL & The Men and Their Music 9:30pm RECITAL Mikie Smyth, Peter Browne and Jimmy O’Brien-Moran N A PÍOBAIRÍ UILLEANN will again be hold- ing a co-ordinated International Uilleann Piping Day on Saturday, October 20, 2012 to raise awareness of the instrument around the world. The first such event last year saw events in 20 locations world-wide and we are hoping to build on that in 2012. The idea behind the day is that individuals or groups of pipers in locations around the globe organise a small event such as a recital or work- shop in a local public venue, and it would be great to see events in as many countries and lo- cations as possible. INTERNATIONAL UILLEANN PIPING DAY gives you the opportunity to raise awareness of the uilleann pipes and activities in your locality and is also a great excuse to have an enjoyable mu- sical gathering. Get your pipes out and get involved.....
