7 4 8 20110920 8 REGULAR EVENTS WITH NA PÍOBAIRÍ UILLEANN WEEKLY NPU PIPING & REED-MAKING CLASSES: Held weekly during the months Sep- tember to May on Tuesday nights 7pm to 8pm and 8pm to 9pm. NPU RECITALS: Held on the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30pm September 6th – Ronan Browne (pipes), Kevin Glackin (fiddle), Seán Tyrrell (songs) and Paul Finn (accordion) October 4th – Michael Cooney (pipes), Johnny Connolly (accordion), Charlie Lennon (fiddle) and Meaití Jó Shéamuis Ó Fatharta (songs) November 1st – Cian Talty (pipes), Nuala Kennedy (flute/songs), Gerry O’Connor (fiddle) and Martin Quinn (accordion) NOTES & NARRATIVES: Held on the third Friday of each month at 8:30pm. September 16th – John Blake : A History of Irish Flute Playing in London October 21st – Lisa Shields: The sources of Canon James Goodman's music November 18th – Danny O’Mahony: The Music of Tom Carmody LEO ROWSOME COMMEMORATIVE EVENT: Held annually on the last Saturday in February. The 2012 event will take place on the 26th of February. NPU TIONÓL: Held annually on the weekend before the last Monday of May, the 25th May in 2012. PIPING AND REED-MAKING MASTERCLASSES: Week-long classes are held during June, July and August each year. SCOIL SAMHRAIDH WILLIE CLANCY: Held annually on the first full calendar week in July. It always starts on the first Saturday of July, the 7th of July in 2012. ACE & DEUCE OF PIPING CONCERT: Held annually on the first weekend in October, the 2011 concert will take place on Sunday October 2nd. BREANDÁN BREATHNACH COMMEMORATION: Held annually on the first Saturday of De- cember. The 2011 event will take place on Saturday, December 3rd. BOUND COPIES OFAN PÍOBAIRE 2010 A LIMITED number of hard-bound copies of last year’s issues of An Píobaire are available, and can be ordered through our on- line shop. The volume includes the five issues of the magazine published in 2010, along with comprehensive contents listings, an index of names and an index of the pictures that were carried during the year. The cost of this item is €50.00, and anyone wishing to buy a copy should contact us immediately as only a small number were ordered.
