7 3 7 20110711 7 POSITION AVAILABLE PIPE MAKING TRAINING SUPERVISOR N A PÍOBAIRÍ UILLEANN is seeking to hire a Pipemaking Training Supervisor for our PIPECRAFT Training Centre, Clonshaugh, Dublin 17, reporting to the Course Director. The duties and responsibilities will include: • Cultivating an enlightened learning and mentoring environment for uilleann pipe making • Scheduling full and part time courses, including liaising with tutors and students • Delivering a number of modules of the course(s) • Commissioning engineering machinery • Ensuring that equipment and consumables are available for use in advance of each training session. • Compliance with the facility Health and Safety Statement and procedures, con- ducting risk assessments and housekeeping audits. • Input to the curriculum review process The ideal candidate will possess: • Excellent leadership, communications, interpersonal and organisational skills • Previous supervisory experience in an engineering workshop or training envi- ronment • Experience of engineering machinery set-up and preventative maintenance pro- grammes • Knowledge and experience of current Health and Safety legislation and best prac- tices. • First aid skills • Administration skills including procurement, inventory control, personnel record- keeping and course programming. • Proficiency in office software packages such as Word, Excel, Access and Pow- erPoint. An interest in Irish Traditional Music and/or pipemaking, and experience in piping and reed-making would be an advantage. The position will be offered initially for an eleven month contract period. Training and development will be provided to the successful candidate as required.
