Ttonot 1987 .It is beginning to look asif our theory was correct.A new venue for eachyears TionSl contributes acertain je ne sais quoi, although I dont know whatit is. Renvyle House, sit-ated as it is in such a mag-nificent part of the country, provided a most congenialsetting for our 20th Annualgathering. And if the staffseemed not to have got theidea of the weekend, theydid at least manage to keepup with the demands oftheir guests. The remoteness of the location provednot at all oft-putting to themany members who atten-ded, but did have the we!-come result of deterringthe usual Sunday-afternoontrippers.The TiondI was one ofthe most enjoyable that Ihave cver attended, although I do not think that Ican describe it in any waythat will convey that enjoy-ment. And I dont thinkanyone else that was therecould either. You see, everybody was playing. Thestar system had brokendown for the weekend, aridpeople seemed to be moreinvolved in playing theirfavourite instrument, thepipes, than listening toother people playing. Re-ports were received, cer-tainly, of Paddy Keenan andJoe McKenna playing extraordinary things at and witheach other in the bar, butwe were just having toomuch fun ourselves to moveIt was that kind of occasion.Next year will be ourtwenty-first, and, as such, will be expected to be some-thing special. I hope itwill, and hope to contributeto making it so, but its Derrdre Leech, Terry Moylan, Ronan Brownehard to see how.
