Three of theitems on the tape are songs4n Irish (reflecting fairlyaccurately the incidence ofsongs in Irish on the Fridayclubnights), one by StephenFoster, one by tan Camp-bell and one by ThomasDavis. There is a grandlydelivered vers ion of Dangerous Dan McGrew recitedby the much-lamented LiamNolan, and the rest, as farSlOE 21. My one quibbleis that Nuala Harriss fineFlower of Finae is presen-ted here In truncated form, the final five verses, that Ihave heard her singing, being absent. Nuala makesa fine job of the song andthe extra verses should behere anyway for the sakeof the story. The tune, in-cidentally, is one thatmight go well on the pipes,as are several others thatare on the tape. That quib-ble apart, I would recom-mend this cassette to any-one who likes a good sing-ing session.Terry MoylanClirseoirf na h ireann isthe association of traditionalIrish harpers.
