The Pipes, The Pipes
The Pipes, The Pipes, devised by Donal Dineen, is a homage to the singular magic of the Irish Uilleann Pipes. At the heart of this live experience is the playing of exceptional pipers, Padraig McGovern, Leonard Barry, Maitiú Ó Casaide and John Tuohy. Visual artists Lionel Palun and Donal Dineen respond to the mesmerising soundwaves they create by conjuring a magical picture show, unique to every performance.
Commissioned by The Dock, Carrick-on-Shannon for its 10th anniversary programme, The Pipes, The Pipes premiered at The Dock in January 2015 and went on to perform sellout shows in Dublin and Paris to critical audience acclaim, featuring as one of St. Patrick’s Festival Dublin highlights on RTE. Produced by Siobhán O’Malley in association with The Dock.
