MÍCHEÁL Ó RIABHAIGH T HE LATE Mícheál Ó Riabhaigh can now be seen on YOUTUBE, with the pipes once owned by Canon Goodman, in a clip already seen in Come West Along the Road! The recently-posted clip shows Ó Riabhaigh, who was involved in reviving the Cork Pipers Club in the early 1960s, being interviewed in 1966 by the well-known television personality Bill O’Herlihy. Mícheál’s son Eoin was the model for the statue of Canon Goodman that was erected a few years ago in Skibbereen. Al- derman William Phair, whom Mícheál men- tions in the interview, was evidently a friend of Canon Goodman, and was a very enthusiastic piper and founder member of the original Cork Pipers Club in 1898.
