Píobaire, An 8 1 7 20120206 7 REGULAR EVENTS WITH NA PÍOBAIRÍ UILLEANN WEEKLY NPU PIPING & REED-MAKING CLASSES: Held weekly during the months Sep- tember to May on Tuesday nights. Classes start each hour from 5pm to 8pm. NPU RECITALS: Held on the first Tuesday of each month at 9:30pm March 6th – Fiachra O’Regan (pipes), Paddy Ryan (fiddle), Jimmy Cannavan (songs) and Frank Jordan (flute) April 3rd – Eoin Kenny (pipes), Tom Doorley (flute), Len Graham (songs) and Oisín Mac Diarmada (fiddle) May 1st – Seán McKiernan (pipes), Peadar O’Loughlin (fiddle), Harry Bradley (flute) and John Lyons (songs) NOTES & NARRATIVES: Held on the third Friday of each month at 8:30pm. February 17th – Ríonach Uí Ógáin : The Early Field Trips of Séamus Ennis March 16th – Criostóir Mac Cárthaigh: Saint Patrick in story, song, music and dance April 20th – Pat Mitchell: Alasdair Mac Cholla Ciotach Mac Domhnaill, Hero of Knocknanuss, and the piping piece commemorating both hero and battle LEO ROWSOME COMMEMORATIVE EVENT: Held annually on the last Saturday in February. The 2012 event will take place on the 25th of February. NPU TIONÓL: Held annually on the weekend before the last Monday of May, in 2012 the weekend of May 25th to 27th. PIPING AND REED-MAKING MASTERCLASSES: Week-long classes are held each summer. In 2012 they’ll start on 18th June, 23rd July and 20th August. SCOIL SAMHRAIDH WILLIE CLANCY: Held annually on the first full calendar week in July. It always starts on the first Saturday of July, the 7th of July in 2012. ACE & DEUCE OF PIPING CONCERT: Held annually on the first weekend in October, the 2012 concert will take place on Sunday October 7th. BREANDÁN BREATHNACH COMMEMORATION: Held annually on the first Saturday of De- cember. The 2012 event will take place on Saturday, December 1st. in particular for our pipe-making project at our PIPECRAFT workshop in Clonshaugh which re- quires critical long-term funding to sustain the training. The only requirements for participating in the cycle is that you are over 18, fit enough to cycle 60 miles in one day (at your own pace), have a bike, a helmet and raise the initial deposit of €150 which covers your cost of bed and break- fast for two nights. A deposit of €150 is re- quired before April 6th to confirm participation while participants are encouraged to raise up to €500 in sponsorship if possible.
