JSTOR is an online repository of ac- ademic journals, as well as other primary sources, and is an important resource for re- searchers. Members wishing to avail of our ac- cess to this facility may do so by visiting Henrietta Street, or by identifying particular ar- ticles and requesting them from us. SCHOLARSHIPS S CHOLARSHIPS are available for attendance at summer schools in 2011. Subject to demand a minimum of two scholarships will be reserved for applications from non-Irish residents. Successful applicants may attend the Willie Clancy, South Sligo, Joe Mooney or The Catskills Summer School. In addition, Na Píobairí Uilleann will also award the O’Mealy Pipemaking Scholarship during 2011. SPONSORED CYCLE L AST YEAR’S successful sponsored cycle to Miltown Malbay from Dublin will be re- peated this year. The group will leave Dublin on Friday 1st July and arrive in Miltown on Saturday 3rd, just in time for the beginning of the Willie Clancy Summer School. Members and friends of NPU are invitied to participate in this exercise, which is hoped to raise our taget of €20,000 to- wards the cost of our PIPECRAFT initiative in pipe- making training. Donations to the pipe-making training fund can be made via the on-line shop using the ‘Dona- tions’ link under “Store Navigation” or by send- ing a cheque c/o Na Píobairí Uilleann, 15 Henrietta St. Dublin 1. PIPE-MAKING COURSES O UR training centre in Clonshaugh is al- ready being used for courses in different aspects of pipe-making. In February Bill Haneman conducted a course in reamer making, in conjunction with the an- nual Rowsome commemoration, and in March Jim Wenham taught a class in in bellows mak- ing. The photograph below shows some of the attandance at the latter event. Further modules are being planned and will be advertised on our website. Jim Wenham
