To commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Death of the Renowned Roscommon
Uilleann Piper, John O’ Gorman,
a talk on John O’Gorman, followed by traditional music, will be held at
Garranlahan Community Centre, Sunday 19 March 2017 at 12:45p.m.
Afterwards there will be a visit to Derrylahan, the place of O’Gorman’s birth.
Light refreshments will be served at the Community Centre – all are welcome
A further Commemorative event will be held at John O’Gorman’s burial place
The Famine Graveyard, at Murhaun, Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim at 4:00 p.m.
Assemble at St Patrick’s Church, Drumshanbo, carpark.
Music afterwards in Conway’s Bar, Drumshanbo.

John O’Gorman (also known as Johnny Gorman or ‘Jack the Piper’) was born at Derrylahan in 1861, and died tragically near Drumshanbo in 1917.
